Louis Anagnostakos

Chief Executive Officer

Louis is recognized as one of the waste industry leaders and early adopters in North America.  He has been innovating in the recycling and waste management industry since 1991. Louis is the cofounder of Turtle Island Recycling, one of Ontario’s most successful waste ventures.  Under his leadership Turtle Island grew to  $100 million of annual revenues, employing over 400 people. Louis then successfully navigated the sale of the business to a private equity backed strategic buyer in 2011. He currently sits on various public and private company boards and is respected as an astute and active investor in various start-up ventures.

 

Stephen Brown

Chief Financial Officer

Steve is a well respected finance professional and a successful entrepreneur with public and private market expertise. Steve was the co-founder and CFO of Galaxy Cinemas which grew to sales of $ 40 million annually before merging with Cineplex and successfully listing on the TSX, raising $ 175 million in equity and $ 170 million in debt.  He then moved into private equity in 2004 before entering the waste industry in 2005 as CFO of Turtle Island Recycling where he was part of the senior management group that  doubled revenues over a 3 year period.  He has since successfully filled a number of CFO roles.

Samer Kamal

Chief Development Officer

Samer has been developing international ventures and privately financed infrastructure in waste management and sustainability for 15 years. Based in Dubai, Samer founded the largest waste management company in the Middle East, Bee’ah, with an initial capital raise of $220 million, growing the team from 3 to 1600 people with annual revenues of $ 110 million.  He has recently advised such multinationals as Nestle, Samsung, Etihad Airways, and Merck Pharmaceuticals on alignment of their environmental and financial performance.
